While, Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) were initially developed for use in offshore oil field use, the technology has been adapted for use in land based industries. For over 25 years, Hibbard Inshore has used this technology to provide innovative solutions to industrial plant intakes and outfalls. These critical plant components suffer from sediment and debris buildup and are costly to shut down due to loss of production of the plant. The Remotely Operated Vehicle solutions Hibbard Inshore provides allow for inspection without dewatering and therefore minimize impact on plant operation. The services range from detailed pipe inspections to dredging sediment from in front of operating intake structures or inside wells and chambers.
Our ROV technology expands beyond the limits of traditional diving solutions in terms of capability of long penetrations and working in flows around intakes, outlets and related pump well structures. The ROV’s use video, sonar and position monitoring sensors to produce tunnel cross section measurements, locate structural features and map out debris or sediment buildup.
